Design Strategy:
Financial services is one of the conservative industries calling for a straight forward, trustworthy design approach.
"Planning" is the headline. Use archetype - a planner or calendar. Each segment of the green icon is a "day slot" in a planner. But instead of being blatant and feature that small solid box on the upper left corner of each slot where the day number is, it was carved out producing a stylized tile.
The geometry of the icon in monochrome green palette hints of a "cyclical motion" which is a key feature of financial planning.
